Our Team
I’m proud to call the lovely little market town of Stow-on-the-Wold my home and place of work for many years now.
I started at The Old Stocks when the previous owners ran the Inn six years ago and I stayed on when the Cockell family took it over in 2015. I was lucky enough to work through the refurbishment with the hotel’s managers, Charlotte and Richard, and see the dramatic transition first-hand.
What my role involves…
I am the Guest Liaison Manager which involves running reception, looking after guests’ bookings and handling any special requirements.
I always try to make guests make the most of their trip in the Cotswolds by using my knowledge from living here to send them to different and unique places that they might not have heard of.
I also do a lot of the day to day purchasing for all of the departments and I have even opened my own little shop in reception that is jokingly nicknamed ‘Amandazon’ as a play on words of my name!
In the shop guests can pick up all of the products that we use in the rooms. It’s a great way to take a little piece of the Old Stocks experience home with them.
What I love most about the Old Stocks…
I have really enjoyed the journey we have made to make this hotel so beautiful and unique.
It is such a lovely working environment and all of the troupe are like one big happy family.
It is so nice to work somewhere that encourages us all to express our ideas and opinions on the day-to-day running of the business, on top of our specific roles.
Why I’m part of the troupe…
I am part of The Old Stocks Inn troupe because I love my job and the opportunities it has given me.
I have been able to progress from a part time receptionist to the role I have today and I have learnt so much along the way.
